From Lagos to New York, DIGITAL AFRIKA is pushing the frontiers of dance floor orientated Afro House.

Their 2018 debut vinyl EP ‘Dark Matter’ released on Wonderwheel NYC is the productive powers of Future Roots and Si Fixion and Afro-Colombian Dancer Karen Bravo Garcia.

Incorporating live instrumentation, MPC sequencers, African percussion,Digital/Analog production and dance.

 

Digital Afrika has meet with critical acclaim from international taste makers;

The Trio, based in Melbourne Australia, is due to release on Carl Cox's Awesome Soundwave Label in  May 2020. International tour dates in Europe and Indonesia and New Zealand.

2019 saw the project perform at the WOMADeliade festival and Rainbow Serpent Festival, followed by further touring in Bali , India and Europe. 

 

This Trio's live show is an original and dynamic synergy of digital sequencers with high energy African percussion, instrumentation and traditional dance. Digital Afrika's sound is a dance floor stimulator for any corner of the globe.

 

Digital Afrika is made up of members, Future Roots & Si Fixion & Karen Bravo Garcia;

 

Future Roots has at his command a broad palette of instrumentation including a large array of traditional percussion instruments and drum kits from around the world. He utilizes contemporary ways of forging sound through the use of synthesizers, programming and DJing.

 

Drawing on a rich life journey and an expansive tradition of musical performance, Future Roots has  mentorships with percussion masters in Australia, Cuba, Papua New Guinea, Senegal, India. Future Roots has worked with International music icons YOTHU YINDI, MULATU ASTAKE , HORACE ANDY , LUCIANO , BAMBINO and JBOOG.

 

His professional work spans tours, concerts and recordings across the globe and can often be seen gracing the decks at various late night clubs, underground events and festivals in Australia ,U.S., Asia and Europe.

He also regularly performs with some of Australia top Afrobeat , Ethiojazz, Hiphop an African music groups , and his own FUTURE ROOTS percussion ensemble.

 

Si Fixion is a Melboune based music producer & DJ, percussionist and co founder of Afrik Futurism Club Nite. He specializes in playing Afrohouse, Future beats and Bassmusic.

Drawing on influences of African Percussion and Electronic music, Si Fixion weaves these styles together with high calibre production. Si Fixion's shows are uptempo, rhythmic & dance floor friendly.

 

Playing Live MPC and Percussion, Si Fixion draws on his experience as a live musician to create a dynamic sound. Having garnered the attention of other producers and artists around the globe, Si Fixion continues to release music with an Album due for release soon.

 

Karen Bravo Garcia is an Afro Colombian Dancer specializing in Currulao. She grew up in Cali Colombia and comes from a lineage of performers. She teaches and performs dance in Melbourne Australia.
